In Loving Memory

Helen Stavert (nee Watson), passed away peacefully at the Tony Stacey Centre for Veterans Care in Scarborough, ON, on October 18, 2024, at the age of 96. Helen was a longtime, well-loved member of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints and resided in Ajax, Ontario, for 35 years with her family. In the late sixties, she retired as a nurse’s aide at the Whitby Mental Hospital.

Helen was the beloved wife of the late Alfred McLean Stavert. Loving mother of Gary (Jackie) Stavert, Eileen (John) Kranc, Brian (Gloria) Stavert, David (Cathy) Stavert, and Ronald Stavert (deceased). She was the cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 17. Helen was the dear daughter of the late George and Sarah Watson of Scotland and the sister of her late brothers David, William, John, Robert, Daniel, and Eddie Watson.

Mother will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched and loved. For those unable to attend the service, a livestream will be available—please register to watch online.

Visitations will be held at Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery (21 Garrard Rd, Whitby, Ontario) on October 29, 2024, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, followed by a chapel service from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Interment will take place from 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM, with a reception to follow from 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM.
