Andrusiak SteveANDRUSIAK, Steve Orest Andrusiak  -  Born on August 2, 1950, in Montreal, passed away on September 5, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of achievements and cherished memories.

 

Steve's parents, Maria Leskiw and Mykola Andrusiak, preceded him in death.

 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Larysa; and their three children, Natalie Lisa, Michael Zachary (along with wife, Danielle, and an upcoming grandchild) and Paul Stefan (with wife, Meghan; and grandson, Jacob William).

 

Additionally, he is remembered by his cousins, Andrea Leskiw and Mary Pawlus.

 

Steve Andrusiak held a BA from Concordia, pursued graduate studies at Carleton University, and earned a Masters in Education from the University of Toronto.

 

His journalism career included roles at CTV National News, CFRN Radio, CBC Television and Radio, and TV 9. He actively contributed to media ethics, representing Canada internationally.

 

In education, he served as Dean and Chair at Fanshawe College. Even in retirement, he remained a journalist with "Story Village" and "Nasha Kasha." He was a devout Habs fan and co-founded the band Rushnychok, known for modernizing Ukrainian music.

 

His dedication to Ukrainian heritage was at the heart of who he was as a person. A member of Knights of Columbus, Scouts Canada, and beloved by many, he faced cancer in 2023 with grace and positivity.

 

Steve Orest Andrusiak leaves behind a profound legacy of work, passion, and cherished relationships.

 

Visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, September 10, 2023, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., with prayers at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church, 707 Nelson Street, London, on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery.

 

Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Stefan are asked to consider Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church (Building Fund), St. Joseph's Hospice, or the Music Program at Fanshawe College .
