It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lorenzo (Lawrence) Tarabocchia, at the age of 86, of Oshawa, Ontario, on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Lorenzo was born in Srakane, Croatia, to parents Ivan Tarabocchia and Maria Hroncich on October 19, 1938. He moved to Canada at the age of 18 and lived in the Durham Region, where he met his lovely bride, Anna (Lamers), with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. Lorenzo retired from General Motors Automobile Industry after 35 years of dedicated service. He cherished many outdoor hobbies, including fishing, hunting, and gardening.

Beloved father of John Tarabocchia (Jayne), Lori Yurchi (Kevin), and Gloria Picinich. Cherished grandfather of Bradley Tarabocchia, Katelyn LeBlanc (Jesse), Sara Yurchi, David Yurchi, Ryan Picinich (Erica), and Michael Picinich. Dear great-grandfather of Logan LeBlanc. Brother of Maria Tarabocchia (John), Tony Tarabocchia (Anna), and John Tarabocchia (Antonia). Brother-in-law to Thea Reynen (late Lambert), late Henk Lamers (Ann), late John Lamers (late Mia), late Ben Lamers (late Mia), late Herb Lamers (late Nell), Corrie Van De Vossenberg (Adrian), Tony Lamers (Jackie), late Walter Lamers, Nelly Lamers, Martin Lamers (Marion), and Betsy Dupuis (Omer). Lorenzo is survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

At Lorenzo’s request, there will be no funeral services. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice in his memory.
