Jean Emily Mosher (née Taylor)

January 2, 1930 - November 12, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jean Emily Mosher (née Taylor) on November 12, 2024, at Kipling Acres Long-Term Care Home, at the age of 94. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and kindness touched everyone who knew her.

Beloved wife of the late Arthur Mosher (d. March 30, 2024), Jean was a loving mother to Steven (Gerry Wiggett), Teri (Rick Lennon), Glenn, and Kimberley (Robert Freestone). She was a cherished grandmother to Valerie, Heather (Jeff Bias), James, and Michael (Nora Weatherston), and a proud great-grandmother to Jude, Jay, and Ava.

Born in Etobicoke Township and raised there and in York Township, Jean had a fulfilling career working at Bell Telephone, York Board of Education, Sunbeam Electric, and Allied Chemical. She married Arthur in September 1953 at Humbercrest United Church, and together they built a life of love and devotion, raising their family in Etobicoke, Pakistan (1964-1967), and the Borough of Etobicoke. In 1968, they settled in Markland Wood, Etobicoke, where they lived until 2015.

Jean was deeply involved in charitable work, including leading the local United Church Explorers at Bloordale United Church, assisting elderly patients with hospital appointments, and volunteering with Meals on Wheels. Her selflessness and compassion made a lasting impact on her community.

Visitation will take place at Turner and Porter (Yorke Chapel), 2357 Bloor St. West (at Windermere Ave.), on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the service.

The Mosher family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Kipling Acres for their exceptional care and kindness to Jean during the past 16 months. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
