Karl Robert Taylor
January 1, 1944 – December 7, 2024
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Karl Robert Taylor on December 7, 2024, at St. Peter’s Hospital, at the age of 80. Karl was born on January 1, 1944, in Kingston, Jamaica.
Predeceased by his parents Loris Adams and Hubert Taylor, Karl leaves behind his wife/ex-wife Thelma Taylor, and children Melissa (Wendell), Clysen, and Dave (Sonia). He cherished his grandchildren Savannah, Ciara, Jayden, Erin, and Ashley, and great-grandchildren Grayson and Carson. Karl will also be fondly remembered by his sister Hyacinth, as well as his nieces, nephews, friends, and coworkers.
Karl spent many years working at Ontario Reman as a Receiver. He had a lifelong passion for history, geography, and politics, and was known as a “human navigator” — with Karl onboard, there was no need for a map. His remarkable memory for historical dates and facts was a source of admiration. Karl loved to travel and had no hesitation driving across the country from coast to coast.
Karl battled cancer for several years and faced it with incredible bravery until the very end. His family is proud of the fight he waged. Rest in peace, Karl.
Special thanks to the oncology team at Juravinski Hospital and St. Peter’s for their exceptional care.
