Norma Tesolin
1929 - 2024
We regret to announce the passing of our dear mother, Norma Tesolin, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the age of 95, at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH). She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Giovanni.
Norma was the loving mother of Frank (Lia) of Ottawa, Sandra Torcoletti of Oshawa, and Dave (Janice, late Starr) of London. Cherished Nonna of Andrew (Karyn), Mark Torcoletti (Maureen), Veronica Creamer (Matt), and Jennifer Tesolin, and proud great-grandmother of Alise, Norah, Luke, Jacob, Madison Torcoletti, and Mason and Riley Creamer. Special friend to Mary Stocco.
Born to the late Antonio and Genoveffa Pilot, Norma was a beloved sister to Marisa DaPos (late Luigi) and Anna Sacchi (Mauro) of Italy, and was predeceased by siblings Romano, Enzo, Noemi, Ines, Basilio, Gelindo, and Giuseppe. She will also be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Adrianna DiDanieli, and by her many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.
Norma enjoyed a fulfilling life as a resident of Kotitalo Assisted Living, where she made many friends. She was a remarkable cook, gardener, and mushroom hunter, as well as a supportive member of the Fogolar Friulan of Sault Ste. Marie, an honorary member of the Electra Marconi Society, and an active member of the Catholic Women’s League of St. Gregory’s Parish.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Kotitalo, ARCH, SAH 3B, Dr. Apostle, and the volunteers who supported Norma. Special gratitude is also given to Marilyn and Phil Levesque and Denise and Wayne Smith for their unwavering assistance and care.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Father Trevor Scarfone. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to ARCH or the Ontario Finnish Resthome Association (OFRA) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
