Cecilia Timperley
Saturday, December 7th, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cecilia Timperley, who passed away on the morning of December 7, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Cecilia was the cherished daughter of Clive and the late June. She was the beloved sister of Caroline (Josh), Christian (Marie-Claude), Charlotte (Mark), and Clare (Brendan). Cecilia was also the adored Auntie to Egan, Avery, Julien, Georgia, and Alice. She will be dearly missed by her large extended family and friends.
Cecilia fully committed herself to everything she did throughout her life. An avid learner, she excelled in her studies, which took her to the University of Toronto: first, to St. Michael’s College, then the Pontifical Institute of Medieval Studies, and then to the Toronto School of Theology. Her academic interests included female-oriented scholarship, the history of the Catholic Church, medieval and early modern history, and manuscript studies. Cecilia’s brilliance and perseverance led to her earning her Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Medieval Studies and, most recently, her Master’s Degree in Theological Studies.
Cecilia was always eager to take on new challenges, including teaching herself Spanish and being the best Auntie Cece to her nieces and nephews. Her latest passions included cheering for FC Barcelona, adding to her collection of turtlenecks and scarves, and anything bunny related.
