Christopher Matthew Toms
September 2, 1987 – January 30, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Toms, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, who left us too soon at the age of 37.
Born to Ken and Anne Toms, Chris was a devoted family man, cherished husband to Kylee, and loving father to his two sons, Wyatt and Brody. He was the younger brother to Nicole, Heather (Clayton Sorensen), and Michael. A proud uncle, he will be dearly missed by his nieces Kassidy, Bella, Bekah, and nephew Ben. Chris will also be fondly remembered by his extended family in Thunder Bay, along with numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Chris was a passionate and dedicated firefighter, serving with the Oshawa Fire Service since July 2018. Prior to joining Oshawa, he proudly served with the New Tecumseth Fire Rescue. His strength, courage, and camaraderie with his fellow firefighters left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
A devoted hockey fan, Chris followed the New Jersey Devils with great enthusiasm. He had a love for adventure, especially snowmobiling, and cherished time spent at the family cottage, where he enjoyed boating, relaxing, and teaching his boys how to fish.
Chris’s infectious laugh, kind heart, and generous spirit touched the lives of many. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a life well-lived.
