Jhawar BaljinderJHAWAR, Baljinder Kaur - At age 77 of Windsor, Ontario, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 surrounded by her beloved family and the dedicated caregivers at Windsor Regional Hospital.

Baljinder is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Dr. Darshan Singh Jhawar, her devoted children Dr. Balraj Singh Jhawar (Chantal Jhawar) of Windsor, and Kamal Simas (Jorge Simas) of Markham, her loving brothers and sisters Mohinder and Devinder Singh Sandhu, and Sukhjinder and Perminder Kaur Sandhu.

She is also predeceased by her siblings Harminder Kaur Sanghera and Hardev Singh Sandhu.

Baljinder also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Deven, Daman, and Drake Singh Jhawar, and Ava and Aria Simas. They will miss her terribly, but hold her strength, bravery, and resilience in their hearts forever.

Baljinder was born on February 1st, 1942 in Gujjarwal, India before moving to England where she married her husband Darshan in July of 1967. She completed her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from Punjab University, and later pursued her teacher's certification from the University of Leeds in England.

In 1975 Baljinder and her family immigrated to Toronto where she established a proud and long standing career as a daycare owner and supervisor for over 20 years.

Baljinder enjoyed politics, food, fashion, décor, gardening, and spending quality time with her loved ones. She had a beaming smile and twinkle in her eye that would light up a room. We will all miss her terribly!.

The service will take place at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham on Saturday, May 11th, 2019 at 2:00pm. Visitation & Service from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Cremation at 5 pm. All are requested to join family at Scarborough Sikh Sabha, 905 Middlefied Road, Scarborough, On. at 6 pm for Path and Langar,( dinner) to follow
