HERGEL, John Richard 'Rick' - Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at the age of 59.
Richard attended York University and graduated with a fine arts degree in Cinematography. He served with the 48th Highlanders of Canada Reserve Unit and enjoyed flying as an amateur pilot.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and especially by his loving parents, John and Alice (nee Marusyk), his brothers and sister, James, Jeffrey (Maryka), Louise (David) Joiner and his nieces and nephews Mayva, Sarah, Graham, Liam and Ethan.
A memorial service in celebration of Richard's life will be held on Friday, August 9th, 2019 at 11:00 am at Ridley Funeral Home, Etobicoke with visitation from 9:30 am - 11:00 am. Interment in Toronto will immediately follow the service.
Donations in memory of Richard can be made to the 48th Highlanders Trusts or a charity of your choice.
