Ali MohamedALI, Mohamed   - It is with profound sadness that we announce the January 8, 2021, death of Mohamed Ali at age of 75.

Born in Hargeisa, Somalia, Mohamed travelled the world and chose Canada as the country where he wanted to live.

He emigrated to Canada in 1980 and soon became a very proud Canadian.

He was a proud and dedicated housekeeper at Toronto General Hospital and retired after 25 years of employment.

A loving husband of 37 years to wife Valarie (Bush) Ali and also survived by his sister-in-laws, Crystal (Sherman) Sparks and Kimberly Bush.

He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Adam and Erin Leger, Brenda (Julian) Grogan, James (Dawn) Manuel, CJ (Ashley), Kiara and Onyxx Bush.

Proud Uncle Mo to his beloved Shai Grogan, Anissa Burt, Owen, Madison, Noah, and Lucas Manuel, River and Legend Bush. Predeceased by in-laws, Hazel and James Bush, Clifford Bush, Greta Rocha, Virginia Leger, Graysin Bush, friend and fellow countryman, Tony (Dahir) Ramadin and extended family in Somalia.

Mohamed has received exceptional care at Princess Margaret Cancer Center throughout his illness.

Special thanks to Dr. Karen Yee, Dr A. Finelli, Dr. John Bryson, Dr. Aaron Hansen, Dr. Brenda O'Connor and NP Cindy Murray. We'd also like to thank those who made it possible for him to stay at home, Rebecca Rezak, his St. Elizabeth nurses, PSW's and NP Dean Walters.

There will be a graveside gathering and interment In Nova Scotia when it is safe to travel. A celebration of life will also take place at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mohamed Ali Memorial fund at Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation honouring Mo's legacy at UHN would be appreciated by the family.
