Vandyk HarryVANDYK, Harry   -  It is with deep sadness that the family of Harry Vandyk announces his peaceful passing, at Hillcrest Village Long Term Care.

Harry will be deeply missed by the "Love of his Life" and soul mate, Marianne and his four beloved children, John, Janet, Derek (Linda), Greta (Phil) and his late son Billy.

Harry also leaves behind his two stepchildren, Romy (Teresa) and Ryan (Asia).

Adored Opa to John Jr., Vanessa, Jonathan, Stephanie, Courtney (Allan), Connor, Nyky, Zoe, Aisha, and Olivia.

Harry was a kind and caring man who loved nature, animals and had a passion for horses.

He loved spending time at the cottage, fishing with friends, making the best camp fires and watching the sunset over the lake with a glass of Merlot in his hand.

Every year he would watch and wait for the beautiful colours in Marianne's flower gardens.

He could never walk by a person in need without reaching out. Harry was born in Velp, Holland, on July 2, 1935, in a large loving family where hard work, honesty and being good to your neighbour was as normal as breathing.

In his younger years, he spent a lot of time in URK, Holland and has made Canada his home since 1954.

Although he loved this country he maintained a strong bond with his extended Dutch family, especially, his sister, Adrie Postma (Piet), whom he loved very much.

He always felt very fortunate and blessed with the love of his children, and the many family and friends around him.

Harry's family wish to thank Jennifer Charlebois and all medical staff at Hillcrest Village for their kindness and extraordinary care for Harry.

Any donations to the Hillcrest Village would be greatly appreciated.

A private family visitation and service will be held.
