Evans MaryEVANS, Mary Evans   -   92, passed away peacefully, on April 15, 2022.

She joins her husband, Douglas, married 67 years before his passing in 2020.

Mary was predeceased by her son, Gary, and son-in-law, Greg Moore.

She leaves her children, Rick (Carolyn), Susan Moore, Brian (Debbie); and her daughter-in-law, Donna.

A beloved grandmother to Daniel (Stephanie), Nicholas, Brandon (Ashley), Jordan, Courtney (Matthew), Caitlin, Garrett, Christopher (Eduarda), Corey (Chantelle), Jesse; and a great-grandmother to six.

Mary was born in Sault Ste. Marie, moved to Thunder Bay where she met and married Doug.

They started their family in Atikokan before moving to Brampton in 1966, residing there ever since. Supporting her husband as he started his new business, and with four kids at home, she was steadfast raising her children and a proud mother and wife. "Mother Mary's" cooking and hospitality was renowned. Her childhood was spent with little money. She learned early how to squeeze a nickel from a penny.

Doug often said, without Mary he would have been bankrupt both in business and in love.

Family in the Soo and friends from the north were lifelong.

She was the last of her generation in her family but a matriarch to many nieces and nephews. Her life became more than she ever imagined. She and Doug travelled broadly, strengthening friendships and building new ones.

A life of family, friends and good fortune – a life well deserved.

Funeral arrangements with Ward Funeral Home "Brampton" Chapel.  A private family service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario.
