BECK, Terrence Joseph - Terry passed away at the SHN Birchmount Campus, Toronto on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the age of 89 years.
Beloved husband of Josephine.
He will be sadly missed by his son Larry, stepchildren Linda, Gwyneth (Terry), Daniel, Damien, David (Kim) and Michael, and grandchildren Samantha and Lucas.
Uncle Terry will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews and their families: Paul, Daniel, Madeleine, Jeannine, Cathie, Cindy, Chris, Terry, Tommy, Mary-Kay, Ralph, D'Arcy, and Ross.
Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Margaret, brothers William and Larry, twin sister Mary, first wife Esther, son Patrick (Stella), and stepson Marc.
Terry was an avid golfer, curler, gardener, and bridge player. He loved being surrounded by family and friends. He had many long-term friends, some dating back to his days in public school. We won't forget his regaling us with tunes on his harmonica, songs, dad jokes, and swan dives into the pool. He was generous, donating to the many charities he supported.
After retiring from the Catholic Children's Aid Society, he continued as a volunteer, assisting families in need. He was a proud Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus.
The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9th. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Parish, 200 Morrish Road, Scarborough on Tuesday, May 10th at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception back at the funeral home.
At the family's requests, the wearing of masks, proof of vaccination and/or provision of a negative test result are mandatory. Terry will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Covenant House or a charity of your choice.
