Hermolin JoeHERMOLIN, Joe (Jose)   -  Joe was an avid outdoor sportsman who loved cross-country skiing, kayaking and cycling.

 

His vacations were always exciting trips, including bicycle tours in Europe.

 

In retirement, he was a dedicated volunteer, researching local history where he lived in Langlade County, Wisconsin.

 

Joe was born on January 1, 1940 in Toronto to Lucy and David Hermolin.

 

He grew up in Toronto and completed his education through to a doctorate degree at University of Toronto.

 

He went on to do research work in molecular biology, first in Houston, Texas and then at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where he lived most of his life. Joe passed away on December 12, 2023 in Wisconsin.

 

He is survived by his wife, Renate Bromberg; brother, Sol; nephew, David (Jane); nieces, Elissa and Robin; great-nephews, Hayden and Max; as well as cousins and many friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rheta-Helen.
