WASCHUK, Nadia Karin Waschuk -   Born on January 18, 1941 in Płock, Poland, and died on January 16, 2024 in Toronto, Canada, peacefully, painlessly, and after having spent her final hours in the presence of her children.

 

Nadia was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, George (in 2002).

 

She was devoted to her family and has four children and six grandchildren who will remember her with love, and she will be mourned by relatives and dear friends across Canada and the United States, and in Portugal, Poland, and Ukraine.

 

Nadia was a pharmacist by profession and a businesswoman by calling who founded or bought and sold five pharmacies before she ended her long career in community pharmacy working with greater stamina than colleagues who were decades younger at Shoppers Drug Mart.

 

Visitation at Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel at 2357 Bloor Street West in Toronto, on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 6-9 p.m. with Panakhyda at 7 p.m. Funeral service in the Chapel, on Tuesday, January 23rd, at 1 p.m. followed by interment.

 

Nadia's family is enormously grateful to everyone at Ivan Franko Long-Term Care Home on Royal York Road, who took care of her after she was incapacitated in 2021.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory would be appreciated to Ivan Franko Homes, St. Demetrius (Ukrainian Catholic) Development Organization, or other Ukrainian-Canadian charitable organizations of your choice.
