DEWAR, Richard Dewar  - Beloved and loving husband of Paulette, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Kelowna General Hospital on March 9, 2024, at the age of 80 years.

Rick was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and graduated from the University of Alberta, school of Medicine in 1968.

He moved to Calgary for his residency in Orthopedic Surgery and became an Orthopedic Surgeon in 1975. He is survived by Paulette, his wife of 54 years; his brother, Ron (Susanna); his nephews, Dandy, Zach (Zonia), Noah and Sym; and his niece, Toby.

He was the great-uncle to Torren, Jasper and Larkin. In retirement, he enjoyed gardening (but not weeding), reading, swimming, photography, bird watching, walking our dog, Zoe, camping, and helping people.

A special thank you to the Kelowna General Hospital ICU doctors and staff for their kindness and care during this stressful time.

If so desired, memorial tributes may be made to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation.
