A visitation will be held at the MORRIS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4 Division Street, Bowmanville on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 12 noon – 2 p.m. followed by memorial service in the Chapel on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Dearly loved wife of the late Kenneth Powell (2003)
Much loved mother of Garry Powell and his wife Pat of Columbus, Diane Lambert (late Al) of Oshawa and Judy Rogers and her husband Bill of Armstrong B.C.
Loved grandmother of Shelley (Lars), Steven (Emily), Gerald (Kristine), Luke (Kim) and Rahul (Erin). Great grandmother of Matthew, Ryan, Jacob, Rachel, Eric, Marley and Phoenix.
Survived by her sister Eileen Crouch and her husband Harvey of Oshawa. Sister-in-law of Barbara Pascoe, Betty Pascoe and Margaret Pascoe. Pre-deceased by her brothers Kenneth, Ronald, Earl (late Mildred), Carl and her sister Doris (late Arthur)
Aunt Marg, will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their families.

Peacefully at Ajax-Pickering Hospital on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in his 72nd year.
Bill was the son of the late Tom and Ella Hammond.
Sadly missed by his sister Gwen Ingram (George) and his brothers Alfred and Bob.Predeceased by his brother Glen.
Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held at CLAREMONT BAPTIST CHURCH on Thursday, October 8 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 pm.

BURLEIN, Arthur - October 14, 1927 - September 28, 2015
died peacefully surrounded by family, in Ajax Ontario on Monday, September 28, 2015, just shy of his 88th birthday.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Lydia, whom he dearly missed.
Father of Norbert (Marilyn), Michael (Monica), Stephanie (Eric), Brendan (Rhoda), and Lydia-Ann (Al).
Fondly remembered by grandchildren Angela (Dave), David, Daniel, Michael, and Alexander.
Great grandfather to Liam and Colin.
Arthur retired as Director of Traffic in 1992 and made many contributions to the development of the City of Sault Ste. Marie during his 30 year employment. Arthur was a member of Keystone Lodge #412 and a past District Deputy Grand Master of Algoma East District.
Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home, Sault Ste. Marie, on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 7 – 9 pm and Saturday, October 17th from 1 – 3 pm to visit with family and share memories.

KALNINS, Mirdza Margaret “Omi” - Passed away peacefully on September 28, 2015 at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington in her 99th year.
Beloved mother of George (Patricia) and Peter. Much loved and cherished Omi to her grandchildren Robert (Melanie Sellar) in San Jose, CA, Jennifer (Michael Temple) in Costa Mesa, CA, and Ted (Jennifer Howard) in Toronto and to her three great-grandchildren Skye, Owen, and Finnegan. She is also survived by her nieces Sylvia Cook and Linda Hart as well as family in Latvia.
She was predeceased by her husband Karl (1975), her sisters Ilga and Austra, and her brother Gunars.
Though born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, as a child she moved with her family back to their Latvian homeland where she eventually attended the University of Riga, married Karl and became a mother to Juris (George). In 1944, during the Russian occupation of Latvia, the family made the decision to leave their beloved Latvia and fled to Germany. In Würzburg, they lived with other Latvian refugees in accommodations built for the Latvian people under the direction of her husband, an accomplished civil engineer.
In 1948, Mirdza, Karl and George emigrated to St. Catharines to join up with other family members who had come to Canada. After the birth of her son, Peter, who was diagnosed as developmentally disabled, Mirdza devoted herself to his care at home. Mirdza often expressed that some of her best memories were of helping to care for her grandchildren during their formative years.
She will always be remembered for her devotion to her family and for her strength and singlehanded commitment to Peter’s upbringing.
Visitation at Smith's funeral home, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington, Ontario on Thursday, October 1st from 3-5 and 7-9 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, October 2nd at 10:30 AM. A private interment will follow.
POTVIN, Nora Jean - Passed away peacefully at the Carpenter Hospice, Burlington, on Monday, September 28, 2015, in her 80th year.
Nora was predeceased by her first husband Jules R. Potvin (1990), but found love again with Robert Thompkins for the last 10 years.
Loving mother to Larry Potvin (Cynthia), Kevin Potvin (Maggie Baird), Michel Potvin, Carl Potvin (Helena Pereira), and Jules D. Potvin (Michelle). Devoted grandmother to Alycia, Erik, Aaron, and Sean, and great-grandmother to Ever and Phoenix. Predeceased by her siblings Audrey, Arlene, and Clarence. Nora will be dearly missed by many other extended family and friends.
In following with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Private interment to take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Smith's funeral home, 485 Brant Street, Burlington, Ontario.
