TURANSKY, Dorothy (Neville) Turansky – Obituary

TURANSKY, Dorothy (nee Neville) -   Born 12 April 1924, in Greenwich, England, died peacefully with family by her side on 20 September 2015.

Predeceased by William, love of her life and thorn in her side of 63 years.

Lovingly and proudly remembered by her daughters Susan (Diane), Kathryn, Laurel, Corinne, and Jacky; grandchildren Jason, Sara, Marlow, Megan, Amy, Devon, Raven, Ben, Micah and Brazil; great-grandchildren Kelsey, Brandon, Payden, Owen, River Alexander, Carsyn, Meyers, and Leone; and fur-kids Mikey and George.

It is impossible to sum up any life in a few short words and Dorothy’s 91 years and unabashed character are no exception: Brit, wife, mother, WWII WAAF veteran (mechanic), Canadian, friend, grandmother, grandnanny, sister, aunt, animal-lover, murder mystery addict, bird-watcher, accidental sharpshooter, free-thinker, gardener, truth-teller, beer drinker, quiet comedienne, fish & chips connoisseur, royal watcher, smartass, swimmer.

Dorothy lives on in the acerbic wit and fierce independence of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, in the memories of all who crossed her path, and in the perfect cup of tea - strong, milk first, no sugar (she’s sweet enough).

A Celebration of Dorothy's Life will be held at   NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME on Saturday October 24th, 2015 at 2 pm.  Family and friends are invited to gather from 1 - 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation to the OSPCA or volunteering at your local hospital – Dorothy was blessed to have never been alone during her time in the hospital but many others are not so fortunate.

DOBROSHINSKY, Mary Dobroshinsky – Obituary

Dobroshinsky Mary

DOBROSHINSKY, Mary -  July 6, 1920 - September 21, 2015

Mary completed her life journey of 95 years on September 21 at Kingsway Lodge Nursing Home.

Mary came from Oshawa to St. Marys 20 years ago to be with her daughter, Irene Wheeler, husband Martin Wheeler and grandchildren James, Natalie and Andrew.

She made friends quickly through the Friendship Centre and Holy Name of Mary Church, both of which she attended regularly.

Mary was a very creative person who always had a needle and thread in her hand.

She produced many heirlooms for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cooking was another one of her skills which we all enjoyed. She will be remembered each time we make her special recipes.

The love we have for Mary will always be in our hearts and the memories we made will be with us every day.

Family and Friends are invited to the COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Hwy. 2, Courtice (905-432-8484), on Friday, Sept. 25, for visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Burial at St. Wolodymyr Cemetery.
