TROTTA, Rina (nee Bruni) – It is with great sadness and loving memory that our family announces the peaceful passing of Rina Trotta (nee Bruni), with her family by her side on Friday September 11, 2015.
Survived by her loving husband Antonio of 58 years. She leaves behind children Emilio (Maria), Mirella (John), Salvatore (Davida) and her beloved grandson Joshua.
Predeceased by brother Guiseppe Bruni (Settimina), sister Guiseppina, brother Mario (Guiseppina). Survived by sister Ottorina Canonico (Mariano), nieces and nephews in Canada and United States and dear friends. Rina was born in the small town of Lago, Cosenza in Italy on November 7, 1926.
Arrived in Canada in April 1957. She was a valued employee of prominent land developer George James, working at his estate for 7 years. Then began working at Oshawa General Hospital for 8 years. Leaving her work behind to devote her time to raising her three children, Rina enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Rina will be remembered for her bountiful Italian feasts, she so graciously enjoyed preparing.
Her warm affectionate smile, kind heart and generous nature will be dearly missed by all those she touched throughout the years. A special thank you to the staff at Lakeridge Oshawa for their exceptional care and support.
The family will receive friends at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Thursday September 17, 2015 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 373 Simcoe Street South Oshawa on Friday September 18, 2015 at 10:30 am. Interment Resurrection Mausoleum, 355 Taunton Road East Whitby.

KINSMAN, Paul B. - Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on September 11, 2015.
Beloved husband of Gladys Kinsman for over 44 years and cherished dad of Shelley.

LOWE, William George Lee "Joe" - August 28, 1927 - September 11, 2015
Oshawa Railway / CN Rail 35 years – Manheim Auction 10 years.
Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at Lakeridge Health – Whitby on September 11th, 2015 at the age of 88.
Loving and adored husband of Helen (nee Burley) for 68 years (September 6th, 1947).
Loving father of Doug (Eve), Gary and Rick. Cherished Papa of Steve (Erica), Kerrie (Patrick), Jason (Lisa), Jennifer (David), Jamie (Tanya) and Amanda (James). Adored "Big Papa" of Madison, Trent, Chris, Ethan, Emma, Logan, Zach, Michael, Avery and Simon.
Joe will be fondly remembered by sisters-in-law Gladys Rice (late Stephen), Betty Gatto (Gino) and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Joe joins his parents, siblings and his brothers-in-law Keith, Ken and Doug and their partners.
Joe loved the great outdoors – camping, hunting and fishing, he also enjoyed bowling and spending time with family.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The Lowe family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the nursing staff of the 3rd & 4th floors of Lakeridge Health – Whitby, especially Michelle Acorn for the excellent care and compassion shown to Joe and his family - words cannot express.
As per Joe's wishes, there will be no Funeral Service and cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held at OSHAWA CANADIAN CORPS (142 Athol Street East, Oshawa) on Sunday, September 27th at 1:00 p.m.

OPHEL, Beth May - 1925-2015
Beth passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015 in Toronto in her 90th year.
She had a rich and full life.
She rejoiced in her far-flung family whom she visited frequently.
Beth loved the natural world around her and she met friends, both new and old, with a warm, open heart and a remarkable curiosity and generosity.
She emigrated with her husband, Ivan, from Adelaide, Australia in 1953 to join the newly established scientific community at AECL in Deep River, Ontario. Ivan died in 1983 and although she missed him terribly, she then built an independent life focused on her extended family and many friends in the community.
Along with a passion for travelling, she was active in library volunteer work, bridge, smocking and her book club as an avid and eclectic reader. Beth will be missed by her children and their spouses, Ann and David Peters, Judy Ophel and John Osmond, David and Lisa Ophel and Kathy Ophel-Keller and Mike Keller.
She was an important part of her grandchildren's lives and they will cherish their beloved 'ShineO' - Stephanie, Sarah, Jamie, Matthew, Emily, Lindsay, Jasper, Megan, Erica and Laurel.
The family extends our appreciation to the wonderful staff of the 3rd floor of Houses of Providence who made her comfortable during the last two and a half years.
A memorial service will be held at the Humphrey Funeral Home, 1403 Bayview Avenue from 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8 followed by a reception.
