CRUICKSHANK, George Cruickshank – Obituary

 

CRUICKSHANK, George —   Passed away peacefully with his family by his bedside at age 91 on Thursday, October 8, 2015.

Predeceased by Audrey, his loving wife of 62 years, in 2010.

Wonderful father to Scott (Jean), Julie (Jim), Mark (Jocelyn) and Carole (Kevin).

Loving grandfather to Noel, Melissa, Hope, Kristyn, Sam and Hanna. Great-grandfather to Eve, Sophie and Liam. Visitation will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 79 Victoria Street, Aurora, on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 1-2 p.m.

A funeral service will immediately follow, for those who wish to attend, from 2-3 p.m. with light refreshments afterwards.

Our family wishes to express their appreciation to the caring staff at Elginwood Long Term Care for being home to Dad since 2012.

Please, no flowers, but donations could be made in George Cruickshank's name to the Alzheimer Society of York Region or the Trinity Anglican Endowment Fund.

IZZOTTI, Eliseo -   Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at the age of 82.

Predeceased by his brother Eugene and sisters Carmen (Albert Tibando), Lydia and Lucy.

Beloved uncle of Eva Felicia (David) and Joe (Noreen). Great-uncle of Justin, Taylor and Brianna.

Eliseo enjoyed living the last 6 years at Villa Colombo in Toronto where he enjoyed going on many outings and activities.

He will rest at NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Ave. (north of Rexdale Blvd.), on Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at Transfiguration of Our Lord Church, 45 Ludstone Dr. at 10:30 a.m. Interment, Thornhill.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

BROOKS, Robert William (Bill) Brooks – Obituary

BROOKS, Robert William (Bill) —On Thursday, October 8, 2015, at Toronto East General Hospital, in his 88th year.

Beloved husband of the late Joyce Lashley (2013).

Will be dearly missed by his children Linda (Joel) Sinker, Stephen (Michelle), his grandchildren Courtney, Spencer, Noah, Aidan and best friend Jewell Betts.

We have lost our best friend. He was a great listener, never judgmental, very kind, an old school gentleman, intelligent and a gentle spirit. Hours before his passing he thanked the doctor for coming. His incredible sense of humour will live on forever.

Affectionately referred to as Buffalo Bill, Neighbourhood Watch, Carlton the Doorman, Uncle Bubbly, and the old man on the hill.

We will miss his daily weather reports and will cheer on the Buffalo Bills on his behalf.

Cheers Bill, may all your drinks have flavour! Private cremation has taken place.

CHRISTIE, Norma Jean (nee HEDGES) -  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norma, fondly known as Normie, on Thursday, October 8, 2015 in Milton at the age of 91.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, George of 60 years.

Norma is survived by her two children: David Christie and his wife Susan of Victoria and Kim McLaughlin and her husband Lindsay of Milton.

Proud grandmother of Cameron, Kyle, Noelle, Mitchell, Ryan and Calvin. Normie's enthusiasm for her friends and devotion to her family reflect a life of love and laughter, lived to the fullest.

She faithfully served as a volunteer at Mississauga Hospital for over 30 years.

Family and friends are invited to attend her celebration of life at the McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home, 114 Main St., Milton, Ontario, on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. V

Siersma HarmenSIERSMA, Harmen -   Peacefully at his home in Whitby on Thursday October 8, 2015 in his 86th year.

Born in Sneek, Netherlands and a resident of Whitby since 1952.

Dearly loved husband of Shirley (Robinson) for 41 years.

Dear father of Julie (Chris) Brandl, Scott (Kathy) Siersma, Shelley Siersma and Kim Thompson.

Grandfather of Tim and Rob Brandl, Tyler, Ryan and Brayden Siersma and Todd and Shannon Thompson. Great-grandfather of Jazmine, Grace, Devonte, Lily-Ann and Ashlyn.

Brother of Jane (Henk) Hoogkamp. Predeceased by sisters Rinske (Saco) Eekma, Femke (Bob) Huitema, brother George and parents Sjouke and Sjieuwke Siersma.

 

Friends will be received at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby on Monday October 12th from 7-9pm and at St. Mark’s United Church, 201 Centre Street South, Whitby  on Tuesday from 11-12 noon followed by a funeral service at noon.

Interment GROVESIDE CEMETERY.

KOCHA, Gerald Andrew Kocha – Obituary

 

KOCHA, Gerald Andrew -   Passed away suddenly at home, at the age of 66.

Predeceased by his parents Epifany and Elizabeth Kocha (nee Lukij).

He will be deeply missed by his brother Walter Kocha and sister-in-law Mary Packowski.

Gerald had a tremendous love and affection for, and was adored by his three nieces: Christa, Katrinka and Ilyana Kocha.

He graduated from Brock University and obtained an advanced degree in International Relations in Sweden.

He had a wide range of experiences that included that of a Junior Officer in the Canadian Army, the military reserves subsequently and in immigration.

He was a Licensed Private Investigator a trained Paralegal. He had a great love of learning, most recently completing a chef's course. He spent his latter years in security. He was a dedicated and unstinting caretaker for both of his parents in the last years of their lives.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. Demetrius, 3338 Lakeshore Blvd. W., Toronto. Interment to follow.

Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.

Loving husband to Gilda. Caring step-dad to Myles.

He will be greatly missed by his brother John (Karen) and his niece Shannon.
