Moira Margaret Troup

August 31, 1939 - November 22, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Moira Margaret Troup on November 22, 2024, at the age of 85, at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital.

Moira was the beloved sister of John and Elizabeth Cunningham in Scotland and a treasured cousin to Sandra, Kari, and Katelyn Syri, and the Boothman family. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Garnet Troup (2003), and her close cousins Eileen (2009) and James (2018) Boothman.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on August 31, 1939, Moira immigrated to Canada at the age of 17. She lived in Montreal and Toronto before settling in the Niagara Region. Moira cherished her time with family and friends, and her warmth and kindness left a lasting impact on those who knew her.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of 5B at the Marotta Family Hospital in St. Catharines, the Shaver Hotel Dieu Hospital, and Cobblestone Gardens for their exceptional care and kindness during Moira’s stay.

A funeral service for Moira will be held at Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St., Vineland, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow the service, and interment will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jordan Station.
