Lawrence Franklin Turnbull
February 24, 1943 - October 21, 2024

Lawrence Franklin “Larry” Turnbull passed peacefully at Smiths Falls Hospital on October 21, 2024, in his 82nd year. Larry was the beloved husband of Evelyn (Noonan) and a devoted father to Kevin (Jacqueline) Turnbull, Wendy (Pete) Armstrong, and Cheryl (Danny) Powers. Known lovingly as “Poppa,” he will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Jeremy (Kari), Riley (Sarah), Michaela, Madison, Adrianna, Alexa, Darragh, and Caleb.

Larry was a cherished brother to his twin, Garnet (Muriel) Turnbull, and his siblings Diane (Keith) Murphy, Susan (Doug) Norman, Robert (Darlene), and Philip (Teresa) Turnbull. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Gwen (Thompson) Turnbull, and his sister Sylvia “Sib” Conboy. Larry’s memory will be lovingly kept by his extended family, including many nieces and nephews.

Known for his deep faith, devotion to family and friends, and love for the outdoors and farming, Larry will forever be remembered for his kind heart, words of wisdom, intellect, quick wit, and skillful hands that could fix anything.

Friends and family are invited to a “Celebration of Life” on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Royal Canadian Legion in Toledo, where memories will be shared starting at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Philip-Neri’s Building Fund would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
