Angela Tzountzouris

1940 – 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Angela Tzountzouris on Sunday, December 29, 2024. Angela was born on May 4, 1940, in Ammohori (Peshoshnitsa), Greece, to Lambros and Dafina Angelou. She was the youngest of five children, with a brother, two sisters, and a twin sister who predeceased her in infancy.

In 1964, Angela moved to Canada seeking a better life. She married Chris in 1965, and together they had three children. The couple worked tirelessly in the restaurant business, operating Haugen’s Chicken & Ribs Barbeque in Port Perry. Their hard work and dedication made Haugen’s a cherished part of the community.

Angela was beloved by her family and friends, known for her warmth, and especially her homemade poupche and pizza. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Stephen (Lynn), John (Vicki), and Tina (George), and her cherished grandchildren Alexia, Christopher, Connor, Sophia, William, Nicholas, and Cameron, who will treasure their memories of Palm Beach Shores, Florida, with their Baba and Dedo.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Willows Estate for their excellent care of Angela over the past two years.
