Margrit Lore Radermacher Voisin

February 27, 1951 – January 16, 2025

Margrit Lore Radermacher Voisin, born February 27, 1951, in Erlangen, Germany, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025. Predeceased by her parents Fred Radermacher (1991) and Asja (Ija) Stonskaja-Plinokos (2014), her paternal grandparents Alfred and Lina (Berndt) Radermacher, and her maternal grandparents Grigoriy and Larissa (Stonskaja) Plinokos, Margrit leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and creativity.

Margrit is survived by her best friend and love of her life, her husband Sean Voisin; her sons Gregory (Eda) and Matthew; her loving grandson William and granddaughter Abagail Margrit; her daughter-in-law Rebecca and her children Emma and Caleb; and her devoted "daughter from another mother," Amanda Skinner Clark. She will be missed by her best friends Ann Wheeler and Bonnie Enders, as well as former students Amanda Skinner, Ali Rowan, Gabriel Chapman, Melissa Major, Jay Jiang, Erin Oudyk, and many friends and extended family in Canada, Germany, the U.S., and the Caribbean. Her beloved Schnauzer, Theodora Mia Louisa (Tetta), was her trusted companion.

Margrit’s life journey began in Dortmund-Horde, Germany, where she lived with her paternal grandparents until her 12th birthday, when she and her parents emigrated to Canada. Her struggles adjusting to a new culture and language inspired her to become one of the first TESL-certified teachers in Ontario, helping others overcome similar challenges.

Margrit attended the University of Toronto, earning a BA (Hons) specializing in German language, with studies in French, Spanish literature, and Music History. She also achieved Grade 10 piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music and later became a licensed Early Childhood Music Educator. In 1996, she founded Neighbourhood Music Studio, where she passionately taught music and mentored thousands of students, many of whom achieved outstanding accolades.

In her later years, Margrit became an ordained Life Celebrant, presiding over weddings, funerals, and other significant life events. She also delighted in cooking, baking, gardening, and hosting Victorian High Teas, complete with tea leaf readings. Her cherished cottage, "Irenick," in the Haliburton Highlands, was a place of peace and joy where she connected deeply with her grandchildren, teaching them to dance, cook, and appreciate their heritage.

Margrit’s dynamic personality, fierce determination, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend whose passion for life was unparalleled. Her strength, sense of humor, and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Steward and her dedicated palliative care team for their compassionate care.
