It is with heavy hearts that the family of Abby Webb (Albert) announces his peaceful passing at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Abby is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Patricia (née Patterson), and his children, Cynthia Webb of Oakville, Michael Webb (Deb), and Jennifer Ioanidis (Seb), both of Fort Erie. He was a proud grandfather to Jacob (Brittani), Luke, Noah, Caroline, Rebecca (Joel), Brittany (Ray), Aiden, Avery, Patrick (Sarah), Liam, and Scarlett. Abby will also be deeply missed by his sister Cecily Seebach (Gerry), sister-in-law Shirley Webb, and brother-in-law Robert Patterson (Suzanne). He is predeceased by his parents Leroy (Spike) and Wanda (Laura) Webb, his brother Harry Webb, and many other beloved family members.
Born in Fort Erie in 1940, Abby served in the US Navy on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt CVA42 aircraft carrier, traveling extensively through the Mediterranean and Africa. His policing career spanned decades, beginning with the Bertie Township Police and later with the Niagara Regional Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. He was also a founding member of the Police Dive Unit and contributed greatly to the Fort Erie Conservation Club, COPE, and the Friendship Festival.
Abby was passionate about cooking, traveling, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. His humor, quick wit, and loving nature left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
