Joy Werry (Perigoe)

1938 - 2024

Surrounded by the love of her family, our beloved Mamasita, Joy Werry, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22nd, 2024, at the age of 86. She has been reunited with the love of her life, Ted (predeceased 2003).

Loving mother to Patti Cecchetto (David, predeceased), Donna Werry, Ralph Werry, and LeeAnn Cormier (Clar Hayes). Adored Gram to Ryan and Jessica Cecchetto, Darren Cecchetto (Meeghan), Alex and Ben Cormier. Cherished Great Grandmother (Geeg) to Nicholas and Alixandra Cecchetto.

Joy was the dear sister of Clare Perigoe (wife Marie), Greg Hewson (brother-in-law), and Jean Veale (sister-in-law). She was predeceased by her parents, Tom and Alma Perigoe; her siblings Grace, Vern (and Marion) Perigoe, and Marilyn Hewson; and her in-laws Francis and Annie Werry, Roy (and Theresa) Werry, Bill (and Marlene) Werry, and Bev Veale.

Joy’s heart and soul were devoted to her family and friends. Her nurturing spirit touched the lives of nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. All have many stories of her antics. She was a mother to many, always offering comfort, guidance, and kindness.

Although her health dwindled over the past three years, her sense of humor, feistiness, and strong will carried her through tough days. As an expression of sympathy and in honor of Joy’s love for ensuring everyone was cared for, the family kindly requests donations to your local community foodbanks.

The family invites you to share your love and stories of Joy at a social gathering on Friday, November 29th, 2024, anytime between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Tyrone Community Centre, 2716 Concession Rd 7, Tyrone, ON.

"A limb has fallen from the family tree
That says grieve not for me.
Remember the best times,
The laughter, the song,
The good life I lived while I was strong."
