Maria Katharina Wickert, born in Venningen Pfalz, Germany, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Extendicare, Oshawa, at the age of 92.

Reunited with her husband Horst (1992). Loving mother of Monika (Scott), Susan (Peter), Marcus (Christine), and the late Doris (2024). Beloved Oma of Tonya, Tyler, Siara (Stuart), Kelsey, James, Connor (Judy), Patrick, Danielle, and Isabelle. Proud Urgroßmutter to Theo, Anna, Reid, and Riley.

Maria was a caring homemaker who loved baking German cakes, eating good food, and spending summers at the cottage on Georgian Bay. She will remain always in our hearts and be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby. Following the Memorial Service, the family invites you to join our Celebration of Life to share your favorite stories and memories of Maria.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any support and donations towards the Alzheimer’s Society.
