Slawa (Stella) Wierzbicki

August 15, 1933 - January 20, 2025

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Slawa (Stella) Wierzbicki at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Monday, January 20, 2025.

Born in Poland on August 15, 1933, Stella was predeceased by her parents Eugene and Anna Majewski, her beloved husband Kazimir, and her son John Wierzbicki. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Christine Tucci and Teresa Wierzbicki-Goodall (predeceased by her husband George Goodall).

Stella was cherished by her grandson Mark Tucci, his wife Nicola, and her great-grandson Max Tucci, whom she especially cared for. She was lovingly remembered by her son-in-law Bruno Tucci, who provided great help and support to her always. A special thank you to her dear friend Donna Cheeseman, who traveled from Victoria, B.C., to be with Stella in her final weeks, offering much-needed comfort and emotional support.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the 4th-floor Palliative Care team at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, including doctors, nurses, PSWs, therapists, social workers, and Father Ed, who treated Stella with such dignity and care. Special thanks to Cherilyn Gill for her bedside support and the staff at Taunton Mills for their exceptional care during Stella’s respite stay. The family also appreciates the compassionate care provided by her family doctor, Dr. Sorensen, and Debbie Morrison.

As per Stella’s wishes, a private family funeral was held at McIntosh-Anderson-Kellam Funeral Home, followed by interment at Thornton Cemetery on January 23, 2025. The service and interment were officiated by Minister Sharon Melvin.

"I am safely Home in Heaven."

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at McIntosh-Anderson-Kellam Funeral Home.
