Alan Wight

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Alan Wight on November 29, 2024, after many years of health challenges. Alan was a devoted husband to Adrienne, a loving father to Christopher (Henriette [née Bako]) and Carol (Patrick), and a cherished grandfather to Samantha (Braden), Kyle, Carley, and Alexandra.

Born in South Shields, County Durham, England, Alan immigrated to Canada in 1969, settling in Oakville, Ontario. He built a life rooted in community, hard work, and generosity. As a skilled professional, Alan began his career in sales and engineering and later established his own successful business in 1980.

Alan was deeply committed to Freemasonry, following in the footsteps of his father-in-law, Bro. David A. Anderson. Initiated at Heaton Lodge No. 2723 in England in 1968, Alan actively participated in Freemasonry throughout his life and was honoured with the 50-year pin from the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario.

Alan’s wishes were for a masonic and private family service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada.

Alan will be remembered as a kind and devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a man of unwavering integrity. His wisdom, warmth, and generosity will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
