Elizabeth Willetts
March 26, 1934 - December 11, 2024
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Bet) Willetts (nee Kincaid), aged 90, at Lakeridge Health Hospital on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. She left us peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer and is now at rest.
Bet was born in Lerwick, Shetland Isles, and spent her early childhood on the northeast coast of Scotland before her family relocated to England. In 1994, she and her husband Leslie emigrated to Canada.
Bet was the beloved wife of Leslie, her life partner for 70 years, and the cherished mother of Yvonne (George) and Jacqui (Paul). She was the devoted grandmother of Matthew (Julia), Daniel (Ramona), Elizabeth (Bryce), and Scott, and the loving great-grandmother of Nigel, Logan, London, Ethan, Lily, Ian, Andrew, Luke, and Bennett.
Bet will also be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by friends and neighbors, especially the children who would visit her on the front porch.
Friends will be welcomed at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby, Ontario, on Thursday, December 19, at 12 noon. The Celebration of Life service at 1:00 p.m. will be followed by a reception at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, the family would very much appreciate a donation to the Lakeridge Health Foundation - Cancer Care.
To attend the service virtually, please register using this link: Foveo - Guest Stream.
Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery.
