Robert (Bob) Wilson was born in Toronto, the first child of Robert and Verna Wilson. From a young age, he devoted his life to serving his Lord and Saviour. Growing up, he attended the Salvation Army, learning the trombone and playing in the band.
Bob married the love of his life, Dianne, in 1957. Early in their married life, they started attending a Baptist Church, where they raised their family. Over the years, he used his gift of music to minister in many churches.
Bob was a devoted family man who loved Dianne, his wife of 67 years, and their five children, whom he worked hard to provide for. Bob started his career as a Butcher, and then shortly after marrying Dianne, he became a Toronto Firefighter, serving the city for thirty years.
Bob loved his brass band music, baseball, and reminiscing about his firefighting career. But above all, he loved and dedicated himself to his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
We can rest assured that our Dad is now safe with God and has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at Westney Heights Baptist Church on Thursday, April 17th, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior—a luncheon reception to follow the service.
