Lynn Barry Worthington ("L.B.")

December 4, 1947 - December 2, 2024

Lynn Barry Worthington ("L.B.") passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, just shy of his 77th birthday, after a courageous battle with cancer and diabetes complications. By his side were his beloved wife, Sandra, and daughter, Elise.

Predeceased by his parents, Ruth (nee Thornton) and Frank Jackson Worthington, Lynn leaves behind his loving wife Sandra, his daughter Elise, and his granddaughter Kendra. He is also survived by his siblings Laura (John) Pilby and James Worthington, and his sister-in-law Barb Worthington. Lynn was a beloved brother-in-law to Laura Pennington (Phil Knapp) and cherished friend to Garth and Britta Knapp.

He was a proud uncle to Sherry (Derrek), Paul (Mary Jane), and a great-uncle to Jaxon, Liam, and Kyle. Known for his patience and caring nature, Lynn adored his roles as husband, father, and "Papa." He loved his family deeply and found immense joy in spending time with them.

Lynn was an avid fisherman who cherished outings with his father, friends from the fishing club, and his high school buddies Ron and Sam. He loved his boat and found peace on the water. Lynn will be remembered as a kind, devoted, and generous man, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Newcastle Funeral Home, 386 Mill St. S., Newcastle, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Covenant House Toronto in Lynn’s memory.
