Peter Yacknovets

October 19, 1938 - March 6, 2025

With heavy hearts, we say farewell to Peter Yacknovets, a man of few words but much wisdom and considerable mischief.
Husband to Evelyn (née Hyde), father to Shelly (John) and Rick (Tracy), and grandfather to his beloved Jack, Ryan, and Erin.
He was also a cherished brother to Pauline, Sylvia, Donna, and Dennis, and a beloved uncle and great-uncle to many adoring nieces and nephews.

Throughout his life, Pete was most comfortable in nature, spending time outdoors camping, hunting, trapping, and fishing at the family cottage.
He also had a deep passion for woodcarving, meticulously crafting loons and Canadian songbirds.
His talents as a mechanic made him a deft hand at fixing anything with moving parts—big or small—earning the gratitude and friendship of many over the years.

Above all, his unwavering faith in God and love for his family (and his labradors) gave him the peace and strength to face a courageous struggle
with a cruel and aggressive neurodegenerative disease in more recent years.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation related to his passion for nature or to the Brain Canada Foundation at
Brain Canada Foundation.

Information regarding the memorial service for Peter Yacknovets will be posted here once details are available.
