With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Muriel Darlene Zancai, known to all as Darlene, on February 1, 2025. She passed away peacefully at home, fulfilling her final wish, surrounded by the love of her family.

Darlene leaves behind her devoted husband, Renato, with whom she shared 51 years of love, partnership, and countless cherished memories. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising their children, Christine (Crawford) and Jamie, and later embracing the profound joy of being grandparents to Avery and Ashley. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Darlene’s greatest pride was her family. She was the heart of every gathering, offering wisdom, strength, and unwavering love to those she held dear.

Alongside Renato, she founded Cumberland Heating & Air Conditioning, a testament to their dedication and hard work. But beyond their business, Darlene’s greatest sanctuary was the family cottage on Paudash Lake, a dream lovingly brought to life by Renato’s craftsmanship. There, she found peace and happiness in the simple pleasures—boating across the water, tending to her beloved rock garden, and creating unforgettable memories with those she loved most.

She also had a deep love for travel, particularly cruising the Caribbean and Mediterranean, where she embraced adventure and the serenity of the open sea. Whether at home, at the cottage, or exploring the world, Darlene’s warmth, generosity, and boundless love touched everyone who knew her.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy of kindness, love, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation will be held at the De Stefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa on Saturday, February 8th from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm. The Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm.
