JAGER, John Brian de Jager

Passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, March 11, 2026 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 69 years.

Beloved Husband of 22 years to Joanne and 15 years to the late Thea. Loving Father of Chad (Sam), Jordan (Nastya) and treasured Pake to Jack. Beloved #1 son to Helen and the late Gordon de Jager and big brother to Bob (Tammy), the late Gordon, Terry (Sherry),

the late Richard, Peter, Yvonne (Harvey) and Paul (Carey). He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his family in Friesland, many aunts/uncles, nieces/nephews, his many friends and beloved pets.

Visitation will be at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 2805 Highway 2 East, Bowmanville, ON L1C 6J2 on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 5pm to 7pm and the funeral will be held at Maranatha on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 1pm with reception to follow. Private interment is at noon.

John worked as a skilled stonemason for 37 years, then slowly transitioned into retirement, working in wildlife removal. He loved to work with wood, making many beautiful things like his carved ducks. He was an avid hunter and a passionate falconer.
