Beloved by many as the celebrated drag queen Michelle DuBarry, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 1, 2026, at the Rekai Centres in downtown Toronto. Russell Peters Alldread was 94 years old. A trailblazer in Toronto’s drag scene for over five decades, Michelle DuBarry was officially recognized by Guinness World Records in 2015 as the World’s Oldest Performing Drag Queen. Russell’s warmth, charisma, kindness, and iconic stage presence touched countless lives. A Celebration of Life will be held at Woody’s (467 Church Street) on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. There will be no formal funeral or religious ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Russell may be made to the Sunshine Centre for Seniors.
