He was one of the bravest and determined people you could meet, and he left a lasting mark on everyone he crossed paths with. He welcomed those who didn’t have anyone, built community wherever he went, and lived with a deep love for fishing, outdoors and for humanity itself.

Dante Gabriel Johnson-Wells served in the Canadian Armed Forces for seven years before releasing to follow his beliefs and volunteer in Ukraine, where he served as an infantry platoon medic. He fell in the line of duty on June 13, 2026.

Outside the military, Dante completed the firefighter program at Seneca College. He loved to fish and to spend time with friends and family. He was kind, generous, and steadfast — someone who made people feel seen, safe, and included.

Dante is the beloved son of Katherine Paroussis (Mike) and Clifford Wells and the cherished brother of Pheonix, Liberty, Zen, Olivia, Suzana, and Michael.

Services will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905-985-7331) on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at 1p.m. with visitation at 11a.m. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held at the Port Perry Legion Branch 419, 484 Bay Street, Port Perry.
