DONALD, Elaine Donald

A resident of Chatham, Elaine Donald passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance – Chatham Campus on July 11, 2026 at the age of 86.

Born in Wallaceburg, Elaine was the daughter of the late Gord and Helen Charbonneau.

She will be reunited with her husband of 55 years, Jack Donald.

Loving mother to Steve (Michelle) Donald.

Step-grandmother to Amanda (Taylor) Broad.

Sister-in-law to Chris (Max) Crawford, Bruce (Anne) Donald, and Robert Donald.

Missed by her cousin Julie Hellard, extended family and friends.

Elaine retired from hairdressing at Copper Terrace after over 40 years. After retirement, Elaine could be found gardening, watching football and baseball on the tv, and spending the summers in Erieau. She had a fondness for animals and enjoyed the company of many dogs over the years. The happiest years of her life were going to her son’s hockey & baseball games. In the last few years, she enjoyed spending time with her porch sisters (Mernagh, Wanita, and Lynn).

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the doctors & staff at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. Specifically the staff in the ER, PCU, ICU and Continuing Care. A special thank you to the nurses, Kelly, Daisy, Payton, and student nurse Sash, for their compassionate care.

A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.

Donations made in memory of Elaine to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the PAWR (Pet and Wildlife Rescue) would be appreciated by the family.
