CHRYSSOVERGIS, Calliope Chryssovergis

With deep sadness, yet with hope and faith in the Risen Christ, we announce the falling asleep in the Lord of our beloved wife, mother, and Yiayia, Calliope Chryssovergis.

Calliope passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, at the age of 88.

She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Thomas; her daughters Dimitra (Ross), Efthimia (Duane), and Presvytera Antonia (Fr. Konstantinos); and her cherished grandchildren Branden, Courtney, Jacob (Veronica), Joshua, and Agapi.

She will be deeply missed by her sisters Theodora (George), Despina, and all her nieces, nephews and beloved family in Greece.

Calliope had a generous spirit and a deep love for her faith and her church. She touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering commitment to serving her community.

Visitation will be held at Evangelismos Tis Theotokou & Sts.Nectarios and Gerasimos Greek Orthodox Church (399 Farewell Street, Oshawa, Ontario) on Tuesday, June 3, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the Trisagion Prayer at 7:00 p.m.

The funeral service will take place at the same church on Wednesday, June 4, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Thornton Cemetery (1200 Thornton Rd. N, Oshawa, ON). The Makaria meal will take place after the internment back at the church.

The service will be officiated by Fr. Christoforos Kouloulias, Fr. Konstantinos Tsiolas, and Fr. Theodore Paraskevopoulos.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Calliope Chryssovergis may be made to Evangelismos Tis Theotokou, Sts. Nectarios and Gerasimos Greek Orthodox Church.
