ARTHUR HARRY PEARSE, P. Eng.
AUGUST 5, 1925 TO AUGUST 21, 2024
Surrounded by the love of his family, our patriarch, Art, quietly slipped away on August 21, 2024. Art was predeceased by his beloved wife of 71 years, Doris, He was the proud father of three daughters, Christine(Christopher), Maxine(Michael) and Deborah(Paul). He is fondly remembered by his four grandchildren, Michael(Zoe), Cassie(James), Ben(Charlene) and Cameron(Amy) and ten great-grandchildren, Vivian, Celia, Meredith, Hannah, Adam, Allegra, Everett, Emerson, Colin and Owen.
Art enjoyed a variety of careers with the British Navy, Canadian General Electric and teaching at Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School, but his favourite job was owning and operating Pearse Greenhouse with Doris. He had just turned 99 at the time of his passing and still maintained a lively and interesting life at Taunton Mills Retirement Village in Whitby, Ontario. He continued to be curious, independent and loved driving his car until illness grounded him in July. The family would like to thank the Oncology team at Lakeridge Health, Ontario Health at Home and especially Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry for their compassionate care and support through his final days.At Art’s request, private cremation has been entrusted to Barnes Memorial Funeral Home in Whitby.
