Frances Stoppa Biernaski
August 4, 1930 – December 8, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother (Grandma B), and great-grandmother (GGB), Frances Biernaski (nee Stoppa), on December 8, 2024, in Barry’s Bay at the age of 94. Frances was the loving wife of 73 years to Raymond Biernaski.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Phyllis Curran, Philip, William (Bonita), the late Paul, the late Bob, Patricia, Yvonne, Tracey Cosentino (Joe), Kim, and Anita. Frances was a proud grandmother to 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She remains forever cherished by her extended family and friends.
Frances was the beloved daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Stoppa and sister of the late Dorothy (Joe) Murack, Joseph Stoppa, the late Alfonse Stoppa, Adeline (Joe) Dombroskie, Jacqueline (Stanley) Wierzbicki, and Irene (Leonard) Daly.
Frances will be remembered for her warmth, devotion to her family, and the countless ways she enriched the lives of those who knew her. She treasured time spent with loved ones and created a legacy of love, care, and kindness that will live on in their hearts.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Heubner Funeral Home in Barry’s Bay. A funeral mass will take place on Saturday, December 14, at 10:30 AM at St. Hedwig’s Roman Catholic Church in Barry’s Bay. Friends and loved ones are invited to join the family for a luncheon celebrating Frances’s life after the mass in the church basement.
