Alfredo Cappelli
August 14, 1930 - November 12, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Alfredo Cappelli at the Sault Area Hospital on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on August 14, 1930, in Serra d’Aiello, Italy, Alfredo lived a full and passionate life, bringing joy and love to all who knew him.
Beloved husband of Rosaria, Alfredo shared boundless love for his family, including his children Mario (Anne), Gaetano (Judy), and Frank (Linda), and his cherished grandchildren Julian, Cameron, Kayla, Fiona, and Vivian. Alfredo was predeceased by his parents Pasquale Cappelli and Maria Rosa Meraglia, and his siblings Adao Sdao (Nello), Lina Cutuli (Mimo), Salvatore Cappelli (Rosaria), Rosa Gabriele (Luigi), Maria Fascetti (Armando), Gaetano Cappelli (Filippina), Mario Cappelli (Norina), Valerio Cappelli, and Fiore Cappelli (Fiorina). He was a dear brother-in-law to Gabriel Gaudio (Luisa), Pietruzza Posteraro (Giovanni), and Franca Provenzano (Luigi). Alfredo will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Alfredo was a skilled craftsman, a self-taught mason, carpenter, drywaller, and plumber, who could tackle any project. In retirement, he found a new passion in the kitchen, delighting family and friends with his homemade bread, gnocchi, ravioli, and pastas. Above all, Alfredo was a master storyteller, entertaining loved ones with tales from his childhood and adventures in Italy, France, and Canada.
Friends and family are invited to visit Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12:00 noon, with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the medical professionals, PSWs from CBI, and caregivers Cecelia and Hardeep for their dedicated care. Special thanks to Dr. Peter Maione and Dr. Mark Santana for their many years of compassionate medical and dental support. Deep appreciation goes to Zia Luisa, cousin Lil, and Luigi Runco for their unwavering love and assistance.
Alfredo will be dearly missed but will forever remain in our hearts and memories.
