Russell Raymond "Russ" Chessum

Russell Raymond "Russ" Chessum, aged 79, passed away peacefully at Park Lane Terrace, Paris, on Tuesday, December 2, 2024. Born at Willett Hospital in Paris, Ontario, on August 9, 1945, he was the son of Alfred “Russell” and Sheila Chessum.

Russ was a proud "Airforce Brat" and led a distinguished life of service. He enlisted in Trenton in 1948, serving in various capacities across Ottawa, England, and St. Hubert, Quebec, until 1962. Later, he joined the Canadian Navy as a crewman in the North Atlantic and subsequently enlisted in the US Army, serving two tours in Vietnam. After retiring from the military, Russ returned to Canada, working for Chrysler and eventually settling in Paris, Ontario.

He was a devoted father to Nicole, Matt, Will, and Doug and a loving grandfather to six grandchildren. Russ is survived by his sister Norma and predeceased by his brother Greg.
