McAteer DavidMcATEER, David John  -

October 28, 1961 – January 31, 2024

David left us on the wings of his angel after a short battle with cancer.

David was the much-treasured father of Angela (Jared) and Sean (Rebecca) and his adored grandchildren, Brynley, Haisley and Silas.

David was the loving spouse of Bonnie Hunt and will be missed by Bonnie's children, Jason (Ashley), Ayden; and her grandchildren, Dee and Elyza.

David was a beloved friend and brother to Susan (the late Hugh Laird), Linda, Richard (Amber) and John.

He was a cherished uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews who always enjoyed his quick wit and sage advice. David was the loved son of the late John Joseph (Jack) and Joan Rita McAteer.

He was a kind and gentle friend to many.

The family extends its most sincere thanks to David's caregivers who made his last days so much easier -- Elma, Monica and Praise in particular.

We also thank the 6th floor team at Southlake Regional Health Centre. We are grateful for your attentive care of David. David's funeral services will be private.

Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of David's life at Hogan's Inn, 12998 Keele Street, King City, Ontario from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2024.

David loved, and lived, in flannel plaid shirts and jeans.

We encourage you to wear your plaid shirt and jeans as he would get a kick out of everyone dressing as he always loved to.

In David's memory donations may be made to the York Region Children's Fund.
