RAUNER, Dr. Alphonse, DSC - It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my Husband, Best Friend and Soul Mate.
Born in Bamberg, Germany on February 20, 1946, Al passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Providence Care Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Survived by his wife Marg C. Rauner of Kingston and his sister Christa (Hans) Wagner of Germany. Father to Shawn (Amy) Cavanagh, Lisa Murphy and "Proud" Opa to Seth and Gage Cavanagh, Cody Allan and Jesse Cavanagh.
Remembered by his nephews Roland (Ute), Benjamin and Godson Michael (Tanja), great nieces Paulina and Leonie, great nephews Johannes and Tim, all residing in Germany.
Cremation. Visitation at James Reid funeral home, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, Kingston on Monday, September 4th, between the hours of 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm.
The family will gather privately for the inurnment at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
I would like to thank Al's palliative care teams at both Kingston General Hospital and Providence Care Hospital who cared for him with compassion and dignity during this time.
In recognition of the exemplary care Al received, memorial contributions may be made to U.H.K.F (Palliative Care at either Kingston General Hospital or Providence Care Hospital).
