Jeffrey Todd Needham

November 19, 2024

Tragically, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at his home on Scugog Island, at the age of 44, Jeffrey Todd Needham passed away.

Jeff was a loving father to Brandon Needham of Peterborough and Amber Needham of Sudbury. He will be fondly remembered by his siblings: Chris Johnson-Needham (Marechu), James Needham, and Vera Needham, all of Scugog Island. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Marilyn Needham.

Helen Marguerite Robinson

1937 - 2024

Peacefully, on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Oshawa, at age 87. Helen (nee Garrison), beloved wife of the late Orie Robinson of Nestleton. Loving mother of Barbara Robinson, Debbie Robinson, the late Mary Lou Hurren, and the late Gary Robinson.

Helen was laid to rest after a Graveside Service at Pine Grove Cemetery in Prince Albert on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.

Steven Timothy Heayn

1977 - Monday, November 18, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Timothy Heayn on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the age of 47, after a lengthy illness. Steven passed peacefully at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Oshawa, surrounded by love.

Steven was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (nee Stephenson) of Port Perry and a devoted father to Chris (Shylo) of Oshawa and Alesha Heayn and Brayden Hewie of Peterborough. He was a cherished “Poppy” to Emberlyn and Jessie. Steven was the dear brother of Chris Heayn, Mandy Thompson, Dereck Heayn, and Dana Heayn. He will also be lovingly remembered by his parents, Timmy and Nancy Heayn, and his many friends.

Ralph John Forsyth

November 27, 1945 - November 15, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph John Forsyth on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry, Ontario, at the age of 78. Ralph was born on November 27, 1945, in Springbrook, Stirling-Rawdon, Ontario, to Hugh Donald Forsyth and Margaret Rosalia Ryan. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Beverley.

Ralph will forever be missed and loved by his children, Dale (Edie) and Shelly (Ernie). He was a proud grandfather to Cody (Brianna), Brittany, Thomas (Emily), Natasha (Blair), and Jordan (Mel). His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Lydia, Nixon, and Remy. Ralph was predeceased by his siblings Larry, Betty Lou, and Hugh Junior, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family of Ralph Forsyth will receive friends and family at Wagg Funeral Home, located at 216 Queen Street in Port Perry, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A service to celebrate Ralph's life will follow at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Juli Conard-Myers. Richard Kenneth Poole

1959 - November 11, 2024

Surrounded by family, Richard Kenneth Poole passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Oshawa at the age of 65. Beloved husband and cherished partner to Jeannine (née Rensink) of Nestleton. Dear brother to Stephen Poole and his wife Debb, and loving brother-in-law to Jan Rensink (Tracy), Stephen Rensink (Nancy), Karin Lefler (Wayne), Nick Rensink (Juli), and Victoria Rensink.

Ken found great joy and hope in his faith and his relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was deeply connected with his Port Perry Baptist Church family, especially treasuring the fellowship of the Thursday Morning Men’s Prayer Group, where he nurtured friendships and shared in the uplifting of family, friends, and community members through prayer. Romans 12:12, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer,” was a verse that brought him strength and comfort through his final years.

The family of Ken Poole will receive friends at Port Perry Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service celebrating Ken’s life at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Jim Clemens. (The service will also be livestreamed.)

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Port Perry Baptist Church or the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre in Oshawa.

Marilyn Anne Moore

1938 - 2024

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Marilyn Anne Moore, who passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the age of 86.

Beloved wife of William Moore for 64 years. Loving mother of Karen Williamson (John), Sharon VanVeen (John), Sheila Moore (Gerald), and Bill Moore. Cherished Grandma to Kristina (Dave), Tonya (Eika), Shane (Kayley), Britney, Lynsey (Dillan), Colin, Lisa (Mitchell), Gerrit, Caleb (April), Jessalyn (Cam), and Aaron (Amanda), and great-grandmother to Eli, Isla, and Layla. She is also survived by her brother Don and his wife Beverley.

Marilyn was born in Toronto and later moved to the Pickering area, where she met her life partner Bill. Together, they began their life at Moorlands before moving to Ashburn, where they built their home and raised their four children.

Marilyn had a love for travel and enjoyed many adventures, from boating to flying. She spent winters in Zephyrhills, Florida, and cherished time at the cottage on Horseshoe Lake, where family gatherings and sing-alongs were abundant. She loved observing the birds and wildlife on the Dagmar property and had a passion for gardening. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Wagg Funeral Home, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry, on Friday, November 22nd from 1 – 2 p.m., with a short ceremony to follow. All are welcome to return to the family home afterward to celebrate her life.

Gordon A. Paisley

June 25, 1927 – November 2, 2024

Gordon A. Paisley passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the age of 97, surrounded by friends, family, and former students in his final days. Gord was a beloved father to Craig (Sue) and Catherine (Grant); a cherished grandfather to Julia and Samuel; and a proud uncle to Jane (George) Paisley-Canning, Judy (Rick) Paisley-McLagan, and Jason Morris. He was also a devoted grand-uncle to Paisley and Bob Canning, and Claire (Ilya) and Sadie Morris. Gord was predeceased by his younger sister Doreen and older brother Bob, both of whom he adored.

A lifelong educator, Gord was known affectionately as 'Lord Gord' at Cartwright High School, where he taught English, French, and Latin, and served as Principal from 1950 to 1984. He continued teaching well into his later years, providing education in mathematics at Durham College and supporting the Durham Board of Education. His dedication to learning and teaching touched the lives of hundreds of students who benefited from his patient and encouraging approach.

Originally from Dunnville, Gord moved to Blackstock in 1950 after earning his degree from McMaster University and became a steadfast part of the community. He valued the lasting friendships he developed, particularly with the Baileys and Kytes, and the calls and visits from former students, coworkers, and friends over the years brought him tremendous joy.

Gord will also be remembered for his ever-shiny, often-red Chrysler convertibles and his love for animals, adopting many strays and frequently finding joy in the companionship of a cat on his lap.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gord’s life and share memories at the Blackstock Recreation Centre on Sunday, November 10th from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with short remarks at 1:00 p.m.

Ruby Ellen Slute

1924 - 2024

It is with loving remembrance that we announce the peaceful passing of Ruby Ellen Slute (née Brown) on November 2, 2024, at Frost Manor in Lindsay, at the age of 100. Beloved wife of the late Tom Slute, Ruby was a cherished mother to her late daughter Marie (Bruce Woodrow) of Cannington, and her daughter Evelyn (Ron Vokins) of Lindsay.

Ruby will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Angie (Daulton Snoddon) of Manilla, Gene Woodrow of Oshawa, Ron Vokins (Kim) of Sonya, Jennifer (Mike Hubble) of Brooklin, and Brad Vokins (Dana) of Dunsford. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Kyle, Emily, Thomas, Carson, Trent, Ben, Payton, Hayden, Hudson, Madison, and Tanner.

Ruby is survived by her sister, Irene Skuce of Lindsay, and will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Susan Lee Rohrer

1949 - 2024

Susan Lee Rohrer, 75, of View Lake, Ontario, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, following a long and courageous battle with dementia. Born on October 26, 1949, to Henry Cantrell and Cora Lee Linton, Susan was a beloved wife, mother, and friend. She was married for 53 years to her husband, Kenneth Rohrer (2023), and was a devoted mother to her children, Michelle and Jeffrey (Trung).

Susan shared her life and passions with Ken, supporting him in farming, land development, and building their dream home on the lake. Together they enjoyed showcasing their cherished 1971 Chevelle convertible at local car shows. Susan loved craft shows, shopping, and lunches with her sister, Marlene Werry (2019), with whom she shared many cherished laughs. Winters were spent in Florida, where she enjoyed line dancing, yoga, swimming, and bike riding.

The family wishes to thank the compassionate nurses and PSWs at Extendicare Kawartha Lakes and Bayshore Home Health, especially Laura (2024) and Dorothea, for their outstanding care and friendship to Susan in her final years.

“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, As long as I’m living my Mommy you’ll be.”

Private arrangements have been entrusted to Wagg Funeral Home, 216 Queen Street, Port Perry. Cremation has taken place, and per Susan’s wishes, there will be no funeral. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region.
