Etta Mae Pearl Gore

Etta Mae Pearl Gore (née Quirt) passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the age of 80.

Etta is survived by her daughter Karen (Chris), her grandsons Jacob (Chelsea) and Ryan (Danielle), and her cherished great-granddaughters Esther and Skylar. She is also remembered by her former husband, James Gore.

She was predeceased by her beloved son, Michael James, her sister Joan Hirst, her brother Thomas Quirt, and her parents Leona Quirt (Holm) and William Quirt.

Born in Cochrane, Ontario, Etta moved to various towns and cities across the province throughout her life. She was a firecracker who squeezed every bit of enjoyment out of life. In addition to cherishing time with family, she pursued many hobbies over the years. Etta was a talented painter, cook, baker, and golfer. She also had a deep love for fashion and shopping, embracing her vibrant style right up to the end.

A special thank you to all the PSWs, nurses, and staff at The Village of Taunton Mills in Whitby for their love, dedication, and care over the past 11 years, as well as to the staff at Riverview Gardens in Chatham, where she lived for four years prior. Etta considered the staff her extended family and treasured the friendships she made.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
