Johanna Maria ("Anna") Hoogveld

1949 – November 13, 2024

Johanna Maria (Schouten) Hoogveld, lovingly known as Anna, passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the age of 75. Anna was a devoted wife, mother, Oma, sister, aunt, friend, and caregiver who always put others first. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Beloved wife of Theodore ("Ted") Hoogveld, Anna was the cherished mother of Anita Spence (Dale Armstrong) and Teresa Gataveckas (Eugene). She was a loving Oma to Maya Spence (predeceased in 2021), Malcolm Spence, and Lukas Gataveckas. Anna was a dear sister to Wilhelmina Bader (Peter) and is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Chris Schouten, Gerrit Schouten, Gerda Windmoller, Joe Schouten, Ben Schouten, and Edith Lippens.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland, on Monday, November 18th, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will follow in the chapel at 1:00 p.m., with a reception afterward. Interment will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care program would be greatly appreciated by the family.
