SILBERMAN, Isaac – On Friday, July 31, 2020, just four days after his 98th birthday, at North York General Hospital.

Born in Lodz, Poland, Isaac survived Auschwitz and the Holocaust, and moved to Canada after World War II.

In 1954, Isaac and a business partner started Reliable Sewing Machine, a company that sold and fixed sewing machines in Toronto’s garment industry. Still operating today, the company was the second largest of its kind in Canada in the 1960s.

In 1969, Isaac retired at the age of 47. He spent the next almost 50 years dabbling in investments and spending winters in Florida and Arizona.

Isaac was the loving husband of the late Patricia Elizabeth Silberman. Dear brother and brother-in-law of the late Hersz and Henryka Silverman. He will be missed by his daughter, Belinda Sutton, son-in-law Rainer Manzel, and his nieces and nephews.

Thank you to the staff at Advent Valleyview Residence for all their loving care. Private Family Service arrangements with Steeles Memorial Chapel, Thornhill.

Memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society of Ontario at 416-967-5900.
